Volunteer Work

Giving back to a community who has educated, employed, encouraged, and embraced me.
UTASLTA
Utah American Sign Language Teacher's Assocation

I have the opportunity to serve on the board as the High School Liaison. We work to coordinate slient weekends, ASL competitions, and other events. We try to keep a connection between teachers and the organization through emails and social media.

UTRID
Utah Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf

As a representative of interpreters in Utah, I was able to serve in various capacities in this organization. Beginning with the Student Involvement Committe, and continuing as Vice President. I helped run business meetings, plan workshops, and organize conferences.

Other Community Work
Opportunities to use my interpreting skills

I have been able to use my skills to help provide services for organizations like: Utah Pride, The Human Rights Campaign, Sego Lily: Center for the Abused Deaf, Genderevolution, Slut Walk, TDOR, various religious groups, Deaf-Blind outings, and a variety of other engagements.

Volunteering in Other Ways
Sometimes you have to reach outside of your community

Working wih the Epilepsy Association of Utah on occasion as well as serving on the fundraising committee for the Utah C.O.P.S group have been some of my most enjoyable moments.
